Uniquely Different

Uniquely Different

A Poem by Steph Cruz

What’s with a person’s face that makes it different?

Is it the crookedness of the nose,

the circularity of the eyes,

the slightness of the position of features,

or is it the fullness of the mouth?

I wonder how can a slight difference can make

a whole new individual

in an estimation of a billion people

How come a single pattern

is never repeated fully?

In the night i look at the stars

and they would all look the same

but somehow I know

there is a difference

in some degree or another

then I would fall asleep

the answer would show

like a fairy in a hazy dream

right in the moment between consciousness

and oblivion

but as I wake up

the question emerge itself again

Why are we different when we

have the same thing all together?

i guess this issue is long before we are born here in this world kabayan... I think in genetic make-up we are much no difference between gender and physicallity... the thing is we are uniquely different in our own way of thinking, one way or another... what makes a person unique is how he/she handles life challenge, how we manage to cope, how we are difference in culture... and many more... maybe there is a cycle of good and bad karma... that all together we find the similarities from ourself from the past and ourself's from the present or even in the future...

this is a great piece...
well done!
