Shaka

Shaka

A Poem by Steven Fleissner

Kauai sky

Clouds low

Blue high

Pacific waves curl, crash

Breeze brings placid breaths

Flowing fronds click

Upside-down trees with a

jungle blanket over their knees

Hawaiian flowers

Nature's high art

Island bird lyrics

Pacific sirens' songs

Muddy rock trails lead to

Cliff coasts

Aeonian falls

Marvelous canyons

Old island ridges narrow

Insistent sights

Fill the eye

Free the mind

Illuminate the soul

Lighten the heart

At the beach-front resort

I am a Corona commercial
