Unsent Letter

Unsent Letter

A Poem by a_well_respected-man

I’m writing you this letter, you may or may not read.
Whether for worse or for better, you may have been my dream.
Not a dream in the sense that you don’t exist,
But. I may have dreamt that we met, I may have dreamt we kissed.

You looked too beautiful on that day, if it really was.
Like a Princess gone astray to fight a better cause.
Holding you is just as good, as holding the world.
And if I’d held the world, I’d throw it in the air,
If that’s what it takes to show you how much I care.

And if it was for worse. Never did we kiss.
Then that’s what I strive for, I strive to kiss your lips.

I’m writing you this letter, you may or may not read.
Whether for worse or better, you may have been my dream.

The rhythm of this poem is perfect, complete with a rhyme pattern. Well done. I love the line, "You looked too beautiful on that day, if it really was." Beautiful imagery and word choice, and it makes me think of the poem like a dream. Your work is incredible. Well done.
