Soldier

Soldier

A Poem by Joanna Maharis
"

Soldier

"
I am captivated by incense surrounding the atmosphere
With a taste of heaven when I knock on your operatic door
And weave my way into your honey eyes
After you have captured my soul with your lathered words.
I surround myself with the passport into your soldier spirit
That conquers tyrant moons for torturing the she-wolf.
I am hungry for you as you are for me
In the dampened streets of our frosted village.
I wrestle with time to hold onto your chivalrous smile,
But your tortured whispers won’t let go of your temperament.
A series of blows strike your back when the hunter
Conquers the hunted and prepares him for death.
