My Remedy

My lips savors the taste of your neck

You feel comforting to the touch

You are easy on the eyes

I drink in every minute of you

 

When I am lost inside myself

The warmth of you keeps me company

Numbness stablizes my reality

Tormented smiles fade to

Lingering relief with you so near

 

I'm satisfied with just you

A little shot or a strong dose

Keeps me hungry for more

I hold you close to my chest

Feeling your bareness

Smelling your intoxicating scent

My dreams are sweeter

 

Don't think me empty or scared or lonely

Because you fill me with strength

I'm but a woman in search of something

With you I can find the courage to keep going

Time is nothing but numbers

Ticking into fulfillment

 

Maybe oneday I want need you

Maybe oneday I can stand on my own two feet

If I had my way, I would say goodbye today

 

Tears slide down my cheeks

I open another bottle of no pain

Warm happiness glides down my throat

Let me hold on tight as

I fade into nothings

I'm not afraid for I know

You will be here waiting when

Reality kicks back in
