Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by StormeLight

I had a dream once
We were in a barren desert
There were two roads
One I knew I had to go alone
I did not want to leave you
For fear, it would hurt you
But I held your hand
I said goodbye
I traveled the new road
Knowing that I had to let go
Goodbye Mom
I can't live for you anymore
I can't stand the abuse anymore
I know you are lost
Know that I love you beyond the anger
I can no longer travel this road for you
I have too much to lose

Thank you sweetie =)
I just recently wrote a piece with a similar theme but I so enjoy the truthful pained words of your poem. You speak directly of your pain while mine was more about its hidden aspects. This is beautiful poetry you have submitted. Thank you for sharing your work.
