The Thinking Minority

The Thinking Minority

A Poem by John Stussy
"

Seem like the product of the mind of a madman? Good.

"

A plane
   Lived upon by all
But not necessarily viewed all the same
 By each individual
Walking its surfaces.
    Do we really live on,
 And share, one world?

Not in MY eyes.
Not in the opinion that matters to ME.

   The physical world,
This spinning rock,
Is what nearly all consider to be
 Our place of existence,
      Singularly lived upon
      By multitudes of others
That look
   Sound
                  Feel
The same.

Those thinking in these terms
Are in fact the unthinking majority.

Yes, we live
 Upon the same plane.
But no, we do not share a world at all.
   Every answer is different
From person to person,
 Similar at times
But never picture perfect consistency.

Take a moment
To find your real world.

Close your eyes,
Here youdon’t need them.
Abandon your ears
For they deceive you.
Your body is a barrier
Preventing your connection
To this true plane of existence.

The existence of the mind.

Abandon all you think you know,
Forsake supposed spirit as well
And close yourself in that single room
Located on consciousness’ edge.
Open the door.
The room is immeasurable,
As vast as you like
Or claustrophobic as you hate.

No sense of mathematical perfection
In what your reality is.
Instead, there is only one thing:
Thought.
Free from all bonds,
And flying through the lack of air.
Thought.

Tell ME, can you relax
And see nothing at all
Abandon senses
 And forsake your spirit
To see your world, your everything?
Perhaps.
Can you think along the lines of you
And ignore what the unthinking majority says
Is logic, the science of the brain?
Maybe.
Do it.
             Don’t
                        Think
          Just
Do
...
..
.

It's an interesting idea. I don't necessarily know if I agree with what was said in the beginning, but I think you presented an interesting idea with interesting images. So not perfect, but still, good. :)
I'd appreciate it if you'd return the favor and review one of my pieces, BTW. :)

I enjoyed this visually and intellectually vibrant poem. It's good fun apart from anything else. But the main this is that it has truth in it. And it always comes as a shock to realise that others may not even see the same things that we do. But this is also part of the wonder of things, that we all interpret things differently. In fact it's a mix of philosophy and art. It's also very positive and shows real enjoyment in being. Great stuff.

A true piece personifying the human thought patten and the "meaning of life". Wonderfully written! :)

You need to go read The Celestine Prophecy John. I agree one of your best pieces of work to date. Kudos

OH. MY. GOSH.

Dude, seriously, that was the BEST work you have ever written. It's so intense as it is, but you cranked up the intensity so much more with the different fonts and sizes; it almost reminded me of a ransom-type letter, made from newspaper clippings.

Not only that, but you perfectly embodied the idea of X-Logic in one single, thought-provoking work.

I bow down to your greatness! ^_^
