Insight To A Demon

Insight To A Demon

A Poem by John Stussy

Be gone from my presence,

To me solitude is delightful.

My empty silence is more savory

Than the company of friends.

See how it cleans my mind,

Empties soul and heart?

Emotions are gone for a while,

Perfection for my reflections.

Time to seduce myself into flames,

To face my chaos now that I’m solo.

Spat in the faces of the fates

And tossed aside judgment.

A gambit of strength or destruction,

Let’s see if I live or die,

An ending of historic victory

Or the chance to be forever forgotten.

Fell my walls with a mere glance,

Struck down sentiments for all else

So I kneeled naked on cold steel,

Balancing in meditation on a sword’s edge.

Is it time to destroy what I love most?

Must I proceed with this path I started?

Power. And it’s MINE.

All shall fall before me now

For I have the key to undermine all.

See into your soul and tempt you now

With what you most desire.

Your dreams are your downfall.

          I am the master.

You are the servant.

          I am the blade.

You are the sheath.

          I will deny you life.

You will die for eternity.

Ack, I'm disgusted by how long this has sat in my reading list. I should've reviewed sooner. =/

Anyways, this is a very powerful and dark piece. The flow is wonderful and I just love the font. Great job!!!

This was strong. Dark. Vehement in places, but a good vent.
Makes one think, it does, and if you can ponder in prose and move on,
and it does not affect your thoughts afterwards, I'd say the mind is safe.
Poetry is wonderful in that capacity. Good write.
