Free Fall

Free Fall

A Poem by John Stussy

I was able to withstand loneliness,

Embraced it openly even, you know.

But something changed when you left,

A void somehow opened and this time

It's sucking everything that is me away,

Leaving a husk where a man once stood.

It's all slipping further away,

A deluge that has no dam anywhere,

Abandoning me to a cold solitude.

I can barely hang on to what is left,

A small amount of song I can play

Since my music has followed you

Wherever you see fit to go.

You set me free in ways I'd never dreamed of,

Showed a lone wolf the meaning of liberty.

Things I won't experience anywhere else

Were products of what you brought with you.

I flew among the ideas zooming through the air,

Felt as one with someone still being free.

Why did you disappear, didn't you see

All that was holding me up was you?

Without the wings you granted me

I lost my height and feel myself falling.

Yet no anger is felt, still only that tenderness.

I only hope you will save me before...

I have to give you credit for falling at all, some of us are to much of a coward to give our all. Your poem was extremely touching.

These are the lines that said plenty, in my opinion-
