broken things

broken things

A Poem by onlytemporary

I don't want to fix you, but I'll try to heal you. Because I know what it feels like to be broken, to be half of who you used to be and not be able to recall where you left all the pieces. Because I know what it feels like to sit by the phone and every minute that passes brings another horrible thought to your head. I won't try to change you, but I'll try to heal you. Replacing the images in your head with sunsets and sunrises so even when the night feels endless you will never forget that the sun will always come up the next day. I will clear out the weeds that have claimed your heart as their home with beautiful flowers, ones you can smell and marvel at when the world grows far too ugly to look at. I won't try to fix you, but I'll try to be better than anyone else could even dream to be.
