The Endless Wait

The Endless Wait

A Poem by Subhadeep Banerjee

Time drifts in slow motion,
Gusts of ice-cold wind caress me;
Sinking, piercing gently inside-
Lazily killing me.
I wait, right here in a frozen light,
Static, as the life I lead!

Emptiness taking me over,
Through that hollow heart-shaped hole-
Hiding behind my skin, silently
Overwhelming me.
I stand alone in a distant shore,
Trembling, as memories consume me!

In my world of silent tears,
Love runs blind, time stands still!
In my world of loneliness,
I still wait, hardly knowing why...
