Break

Break

A Poem by Kara Hadley
"

i was...slightly drunk, slightly numb, and very tired. -enjoy-

"

Young love,

Innocent love,

Sweet, Soft, Sepia love.

Today marks the day

I realized I’m not Her

anymore. I’m regressing

in a very mature way.

stone cold,

I hold my head high,

and cry behind granny glasses.

Wishing it were may

Or April

Or early June

so I could go back…

to Her. And Him. And Us.

But calendar pages pass

as the flipping of fleeting moments

and days as ages.

“This is good-bye”

she said strokingly.
