The Things I Wouldn't Do For Money

The Things I Wouldn't Do For Money

A Poem by Kara Hadley
"

-enjoy-

"

I like nice thoughts.

And four leaf clovers.

And colored lights in smoky bars.

Though, I guess there are no more smoky bars.

Thanks to the Surgeon General.

Does the Surgeon General actually perform surgery?

Are they even a doctor?

I wonder these things.

I used to wonder why people do such stupid things for money.

This practice was especially troubling to me

because I don’t care about money.

I leave it in socks and under chairs.

There is always a stack evident in my open purse.

It means nothing good,

but survival to me.

I don’t wonder that anymore.

Because having money allows people more time

to be spent looking for four leaf clovers and smoky bars.

Nice poem. Why do people do the things they do for money. Money is not a necessity, we do ned it but just for things that we absolutly need.

Great poem
