This Morning

This Morning

A Poem by Subversive Reality
"

Light hearted poem written on the way to work

"

To the man across the carriage,
Please turn your music down,
No one needs Slayer at this hour of the morning

And to the woman opposite,
Please smile,
Your composite style speaks,
That you care not what others think,
Yet your choice of garment inspired,
Still shrieks out in unique originality,

And to the old couple by the side,
Please try to bear and tolerate
The teenagers with their garbled
Slang ridden vocab,
You were young once yourselves

Let them have their spell,

of boisterous merriment

And to the ticket inspector,
Revenue protector,
Please have mercy,
I forgot my travel card today sir,

Honest!
