Candlelight

Candlelight

A Poem by Sue
"

I was sitting in a church observing a candle burning and I thought of this...

"

Flickering, you lick your waxy lips

And dance upon your candlestick

Set amongst the floral art

Or maybe floating along so gently

Passing by your glass-like friends

Serenely gazing all around

Standing so tall amid the brass

That tries to outshine your light

Yet never quite achieves your harmony

Continue on, so brightly blazing

Shadow-like in corners bare

A hope for us all
