A Secret Journey

Sting's music inspired this...it is also published in a Forward Press Southern Anthology 2008....

 

 

I took to flight one starlit night

Silvery winged and clothed in black

Going on a secret journey

Don’t know when I’m coming back

 

No one sees as I glide through the air

Flying through the star-glazed skies

I’ve passed stars Mars and Venus

A flock of doves has just flown by

 

I’m looking for a secret land

That lies far beyond the sun

Going to visit the house of a holy man

Before my journey’s done

 

A golden city rose into sight

But the wind blew it away

It was just a dream a beautiful dream

As I woke to the blaze of day

 

Last night I took to flight

Silvery winged and clothed in black

Went on a secret journey

Wish I hadn’t had to come back
