I Wish I Were A Child

I Wish I Were A Child

A Poem by Sue
"

As I didn't have many friends I had a rich imaginary life as a child, something I have held onto as an adult and don't want to lose....

"

I wish I were still a child

Running wild

Houses seeming ten feet high

Always asking questions why

Still innocent eyes,

Enchanted sighs

Adventures filling every day

Endless summer hols ahead lay

Too soon was gone,

Days done

Adult hours steamed into view

Responsibilities each day anew

But sometimes in the night time, sleep time

Snatched memories still

Encouraged will

Possess the child evermore
