Me, Myself, I

Me, Myself, I

A Poem by Sue
"

This was part of my longing for a better life where I would be happier and like myself more. I have found that life over the past couple of years and am content....

"

What happened to that hopeful girl

Sprawled on a castle wall

Who dreamed of princes, kings long gone

And romance I recall

The golden dreams of distant youth

Once snatched no longer ride

Instead ‘neath layers of battered steel

Her feelings now reside

The fervour that drove a spirit on

Turned sour by the year

Replace by bitter unfulfillment

And boundless seas of fear

Still swims she forward ever on

To reach the far off bank

With hands that no longer fight

To save the ship that sank

May love’s pure light be shining

Surrounding, healing deep within

Forgiving past and misdemeanour

Releasing hope to once more move in
