Mother Nature

Mother Nature

A Poem by Sue
"

I wrote this as a young adult after losing out in love, which is why it's a bit over dramatic :)

"

Mother Nature is on the rampage again

Pouring rain, raging seas, blistering wind

I’m sitting alone in my kitchen, pain

As my thoughts turn to you once more

You know it’s funny how the weather

Seems to beat me but not get through

I’m past the stage of hurting now,

My tears are long since shed

Rain cascades down on my window pane

I wonder where you are in this chaotic mass

Mother Nature’s on the rampage don’t you know

Outside the scene is black and dreary

Sighing, whispering wind, all seems dead and cold

Your false words have fallen on hard ground

I didn’t mean that much to you

Now I sit here all alone

The silence is deafening inside my room

Since you left and took my heart

But perhaps tomorrow Mother Nature

May bring the sun and a better day
