Ode To Cliff

Ode To Cliff

A Poem by Sue
"

I was a massive Cliff Richard fan for a while but still felt able to poke a bit of fun at his more obsessive fans....

"

Cliff, Cliff you are so ‘triff

Especially I like your quiff

Your voice it has got lots of welly

And turns my insides all to jelly

I love the way you dance on stage

You’re really good for your age

And if your knees they creak a bit

I really do not notice it

And so I’ll join this big long queue

To catch a hopeful glimpse of you

My picture sign it with a kiss

From you with love ah what bliss!

Then I’ll wend my weary way

Maybe to see you another day

I’ll always hold your image close to my chest

Till the ink runs through to my woolly vest

(A light-hearted poem for Cliff fans everywhere with apologies to Rik of the Young Ones)
