The Thinking Spot

The Thinking Spot

A Poem by Sue
"

I think we all have one of these where we can go, have time to think and not be disturbed by the hurly burly of our lives....

"

It seemed miles away as I, frustrated

Angry, hurting, sobbing

Literally hurled myself headlong to the only place

In the whole world where peace could be found

As I sat there, crumpled and alone

The waves of emotion matching those

Of the sea crashing inches away

Merciless lashing the pebbles on the shore

Looking out over the blue green depths

Gradually my sanity would begin to return

And like a soothing balm the cool ocean breeze

Would embrace me with her gentle touch

Shivering, I would slowly come back to reality

The battle once raging, now brought to a stop

Feeling less numb I’d realise it’s time to go

Back to the rat race from my treasured ‘thinking spot’
