A Poem by Summer Goldhawk

one moment;
one moment and then a wave takes over
a wave of pain but not knowing what from,
a wave of sadness and not having anything to cause it
it takes one moment to grasp onto your good day,
turn it completely around and make you hate every
single moment of it.
one moment;
one moment spent smiling
the next this frown
capturing the object that put the smile there
and putting darkness right where the beautiful thing was

An interesting look at a widespread psychological process here. Thoughts and feelings arise inexplicably from the subconscious and cover the mind's eye with dark glasses. It can, as the poet says, happen in a moment, and there goes the day. This is one of the reasons self awareness is so important. If you can recognize the dark angel, drop resistance and allow it to be what it is, it might pass on its own.
