Alone

just cause i'm alone doesn't mean i'm lonely

alone here in this world 
im not complaining
cause this silence that encompassing me is quite entertaining
thoughts racing 
im never quite sure
the safety in loneliness never loses it allure 
though physically surrounded
im never quite there
im ok without love, without that secret affair
im better alone, ill never get hurt 
my hearts always guarded, always alert
i cant surrender my heart, i cant just give it away
so i'm locking it up, i'm keeping it far away 
i had started to open, i had started to trust 
but it was proven that this line can never be crossed
why should i believe what people say 
when they continue to deceive me like a mirage on a hot day 
how do i know when to open my heart
when all that it leaves is ugly red scars?
i'm safe in the silence that comes with being alone 
i'm ok with becoming a part of the unknown
so ill sit in this silence that has become so familiar
because in all honesty id rather be anywhere but here
