If I Should Die...

If I Should Die...

A Poem by SuperSensual

If I should die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take,

To foreign lands and pastures green

Where birds sing at night, and the gypsies dream.

I pray the Lord my soul to take to the lands

Where birds sing at night, and play music

Of spite, of life, of light in the darkest places.

I pray to go where the Wild Things go,

Where manana means heaven and all the spirits know

The true depths of my soul,

I pray to go to the lands where love lasts for ever,

And that feeling never dies, where to be young is to be everything,

And nothing at all, and that place where nothing else matters.

If I should die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take,

To release from the confines of the mind

A soul that shines brighter than the moon, and a soul leaves behind the passage of time.

I pray to go to the Land where I can sleep for a thousand years,

A place where the Angels release all the yearnings of my heart,

And a place where only the fires of hell can match the burning desires
