Trials of the Mind Pt 3 (Reflection)

Trials of the Mind Pt 3 (Reflection)

A Poem by Justin D
"

The final installment of this three part series

"

The room leaves no escape,

No feelings, but no peace.

Few objects strewn around,

Only some have meaning.

To my right, a rose,

Eroding away, softly.

To my left, a picture,

Of memories forgotten.

The lights brighten a bit,

Illuminating the shadow.

Once, hiding faces,

Now illuminating teardrops.

No comprehension

Of what has happened,

What is happening,

And what is still to come.

Word not needed,

Those who fall,

Those who carry,

And those who run.

Each are a piece,

Reminders of life.

That of fear and humanity,

Pride and strength.

Slowly looking up,

Breathing consciously.

Collecting my chaos,

Creating your peace.

You wrapped this up nicely, I really felt the "breathing Consciously, collecting my chaos, creating your peace". Again, I can picture you sitting there in that room...doing just that. Thanks for another wonderful piece. I look forward to reading more. Your writing is fresh- sometimes dark- but always with an underlying glimmer of hope.
