The Duel

The Duel

A Poem by Siren
"

The result of humans blinded by rage.

"

Gun in hand.

So here we are, you and me

Facing off in the dusty street.

I've got wet tears in my eyes,

Dark blood on my knees.

Burning hate in my heart.

Awful fear in my feet.

Gun in hand.

So here we are, you and me

Facing off in the dusty street.

You think it's all a game,

And you always fail to see

The reason of what seems

Some sort of twisted dream.

Gun in hand.

So here we are, you and me,

Lying in the dusty street.

Still trying to make the other see

What we were trying to be.

But not stopping to think

That these guns would really make us bleed.

Gun in hand.
