Decadence

Decadence

A Poem by Susan Baker

Sunlight trickles into me
From the tree branches above my head.
A waterfall of warmth and light
Cascading sundrops melting on my face
As I look up through the leaves
At the Golden Goddess.

I like this poem because it has a Robert Frost feel to it. By that i mean that it's about nature but can also be construed in other ways. I like the line that refers to the warmth and light as a waterfall; it's almost an opposite nature scene, yet you made it work.

This is a light write and so beautiful. I feel a hint of sadness as well. Well expressed emotions and nicely done....xo
