Let It Die

Let It Die

A Poem by Susanna F
"

To a girl who I hate and must thank for my present life.

"

I'm drowning in the night

Torn between dark and light

How can I go on, what's right?

It seems no use to fight.

You've twisted up my mind

Things I want I leave behind

By good and evil I'm outshined

I'm lost and cannot find.

Shall I embrace or shall I shun?

Face to the fire, back to the sun

All along I've tried to run

And here is where I've come undone.

I seek to hide, but show the scars

Of my own making - iron bars

What once was beautiful now mars

A head and heart lost to the stars.

You smiled at me, it was a lie

Trust you broke, though you deny

So here is where I say goodbye

Take your advice, and let it die.
