My Two Sides

My Two Sides

A Poem by Sarah Wlochal

On the good days I have a caring heart
My smile brightens up the room
I help others around me
I’m thoughtful in everything I do

Then out of nowhere
I become dark and depressed
My negative attitude says it all
Evil puts my soul to the test

I walk in two paths
Not knowing which way to go
I’ve tried many times
Not knowing which way the wind will blow

I’m lost inside my head
Life plays such silly games
I’ve felt distant cries
I’m falling through the cracks

I’m an angel on the good days
A gargoyle on the bad
The two sides to my identity
Make me wonder who I truly am.

Sarah Wlochal,

Stop wondering... you are definitely a writer; two sides, more appropriate than one when placing thoughts down on page.

You have certainly created a write that we all (at least for most of us) can identify with.

Dwelling within we unconsciously call the bad to take the lead, the spotlight.

This write has forced me to look in the reflection of my own soul.

Thank you for sharing, this write would be great in Poetic Infusion Society's contest Enlightenment.

Great Job,

Legacy
