Kick

Kick

A Poem by Rachelle
"

Nine degrees, looking forward to warmer days.... And, yes, I'm not a bad player.

"
Let me take that spirited dash
Across the verdant pitch.
Atalanta after the precious pome
Goalie poised awaiting
I swing my foot forward to pass
The air-filled sphere rolls
Booter made but out-of-bounds.
We groan. I bite my lips.
The goalie awaits our attack
I jump and from nowhere
A kicker drives her shoe against my shin
I grimace in pain. My knees give way.
But not after my header spins
My team tears off --- a breakaway.
We attack.

You captured the game splendidly.

It's even too cold to go to the garage.
