Of 2008

A Poem by Amy Beth Storey

In 2008 I want:

To have a diamond ring on my finger

From the man in the Air Force.

To have a well-paying job

And a brand new car.

To have my own rental apartment

Until I can move in with my hubby.

To change my style from highschool

To sophisticated "adult".

To buy new bedsheets

Of a high thread-count.

To finish my self-help book

And find a good publisher.

To take my SATs

And get an awesome grade.

To work at this coffee shop

And enjoy it every day.

To write over 100,000 things

And submit them into something.

To spend more time with my family

Scrapbooking all our memories.

To spend more time in the Word

And simply praising my God.

To spend more time with my friends

Making memories that will last forever.

To smoke my first cigar

On my only 18th birthday.

To watch my man leave me

So he can eventually support me.

To pick up photography

And express myself in a new art.

To learn something new every day

That I might pass on my wisdom.

To lead others to my Savior

That He might be proud of me.

To live my life worthy of my calling,

And show others what I am about.
