Superman

Superman

A Poem by Amy Beth Storey

When I was breaking and falling downward
He was there, holding me back
And when I started to run from everything
His words were in my head
Telling “just one more try”
Now I’m standing here
Alone but not so lonely
I wish he knew what I can’t say
He’s my dream come true

Well he’s always there
And he’s never let me down
With those blue-green eyes
And his half-smile
He wears his heart on his sleeve
And he’s not afraid to have fun
I don’t think he’s afraid of anything
He’s Superman to me

He doesn’t wear the cape
But he flies through my mind daily
And he takes every challenge with a smile
I’ve never seen him give up,
He always gives his all
And I can’t remember a time when he failed
He picks himself up when he falls down
And he leans on me to walk him through
I can’t see his eyes on anything but God
I wish I could say what wont come out of my mouth
He was made to complete me

Well he’s always there
And he’s never let me down
With those blue-green eyes
And his half-smile
He wears his heart on his sleeve
And he’s not afraid to have fun
I don’t think he’s afraid of anything
He’s Superman to me

He could always read my mind
But its my heart that can’t be seen
Its screaming “god, how I love you”
And I would cry an ocean if you left
I know I couldn’t die,
I’d live just to try and get you back
But when I picture my future
I picture superman by my side

Well he’s always there
And he’s never let me down
With those blue-green eyes
And his half-smile
He wears his heart on his sleeve
And he’s not afraid to have fun
I don’t think he’s afraid of anything
He’s Superman to me

He's a Keeper. He really is Superman....
Anyway, Good write.

I like what you wrote here:

"He picks himself up when he falls down
And he leans on me to walk him through"

Thank God he has a super woman too. Where would some men be with out their helpmates?
I enjoyed reading this.
Keep it up.
