Fields

Fields

A Poem by Misterr Remeat
"

A heartache from long ago

"

It was on that spring day
Smell of sweet earth and hay
That I let her just walk away

I tried hard to explain
as it started to rain
I caused her more than just pain

The mistake I was making
My heart was aching
Shamefully as i knew hers was breaking

So hard was I trying
So hard was she crying
For she knew right away I was lying

She could not believe
and so turned to leave
I stayed behind just to grieve

It was all of my fears
That caused all those tears
looking back at those crazy years

Our paths never crossed
Never thought of the cost
Until now, and I know what I’ve lost

Who is she now?
Like to see her somehow
Is that something she’d even allow?

Its been so long
And i was so wrong
Guess I’ll put it all down in a song

I hope her wounds healed
from that day in the field
When the fate of two lovers were sealed
