Our Love's Fate

Our Love's Fate

A Poem by Scryth
"

A story of the end of love.

"

I remembered you idolized me.

In groggy soft speak

I wrote your words in goosebumps on my skin;

In woozy wonder I lay by your side.

We mumbled to a new intimacy,

our shared nightmares in a soft shroud of limerence.

Yet you saw me as luminescent.

My fabricated smile,

Fed your disillusioned mind,

We laughed in winding roads and blaring music

I clutched fleeting moments

Ached when they dissipated.

You were fading

And my smiles started to quiver

And my laugh began to quaver

And my heart was losing its grip

In my own disillusioned mind,

Fanaticism and Paranoia tore you away.

Now you see me as the broken one,

My identity obscured

With my decaying persona still casting shadows,

Laying in bed,

In a reminiscence of suffering

I remember you Idolized me.
