Starving Artists-2006

A Poem by Natacha

Starving Artists..
Starving Artists should be pleasantly full
yet they are still waiting to be fed..

They silently eat the words when their egos are being chewed out instead..

they want more than the last morsel, small bite
more than the last piece of bread ..
They are not leftovers nor hand me down treats
They nibble and chew..
They feel and taste the claw of defeat
The clock beating, ticking to their fates
They will take that 9 to 5 to 10 shift--- just to get more food on their plate

The taste for a small bite only amplifies the desire to make a note, a tapestry,a riff

Desire is a hungry beast....
it lurks around it's prey
feeds on the hunger itself
The taste and bite is in the outcome
Will it be famine of feast on the menu for you today ?

They have choices and doors to open
They jingle the last of their keys to a million bolted doors
even when all of them open..
They still want to go through a million more...
