rear view mirror

rear view mirror

A Poem by Tali

sometimes life is clearer

when glancing at it

through a rear view mirror

a retrospective glance

at how we’d correct mistakes

if given a second chance

viewing those we have left in our wake

places that were once our home

the choices made, for future’s sake

oh, how the miles can accrue!

as we drive and glance behind

it seems, we have so little time, so very much to do

yes, sometimes life can be clearer

looked at through the rear view mirror

but from time to time we’ll see

that objects viewed

are much closer than they appear to be

Love this! “Sometimes life is clearer / while glancing at it / through a rear view mirror” is an excellent line, it’s got a great ring to it. Actually, this entire poem has great flow and rhythm. I do like this analogy a lot. Everyone makes mistakes, but it is better to keep driving forward.
