Football

A Poem by Tamika

One ball.

One field.

Two teams of sixteen.

But on the field,

All that matters,

Is that one ball,

And those girls.

Your legs will tire,

Your lungs will ache,

Long before you accept retire.

One bump.

One fall.

One Scrape.

Just battle wounds.

They present courage, not fear.

They show strength, not weakness.

On the field,

You’re a warrior.

On the field,

You’re a villain.

And on the field,

You’re a hero.

All at once,

And once you’re all together.

This is just a quick poem that I whipped up. My coach messaged me and told me how much I have improved so that sparked some motivation. I haven't worried about following any particular structure, but i hope it's still okay.

I love how positive this poem was! It reminds us that we need to be more resilient whether on the field or off. Teamwork is also extremely important even if you win or lose. Keep it up!
