Future built on grave of past

Future built on grave of past

A Poem by tanmay7551
"

We are leaping forward in new era but we are also losing many things that nature has provided since the beginning.

"
Change of globe and change of robe,
Increasing heat of sun and weaponry in stalk,
Tons of buildings and monuments built tall,
Earth been robbed and jewels on necks,
Trees cut, air polluted, innocence lost, inhuman born,
Blasts of bombs, millions lives lost, no time for love,
Men at work and no time for those who are close,
Of all the nature that is left we have no time to stare,
Going towards change and modern era to follow,
We are standing on a tree trying to reach the sky,
Hard time to come and we should analyze that tree may fall.
When no rain and sun’s fury will be faced,
Tall buildings will bully and trees will be extinct,
New water will be discovered and old will be in museums,
Bones replaced by steel and hearts artificial,
Our present has warned but we have no time to check,
Future awaits and we willingly surrender with joy,
Evil rejoice and we turn as Robots ourselves,
Joy bought today has no persistence and vanishes,
It is just a spur of inner void and it frustrates,
Wonder if nomads had no laughs or joy?
They too were happy though primitives in life.
Time will tell and we may repent for our deeds,
If only we can measure and act with a cause,
Let’s build a tomorrow and preserve the past,
Experience always matters and truth lasts forever.

there is little experience anymore...as kids we were outside in nature, making believe.

now everything is digital...kids stay inside with xbox and other computer games...technology finds us having so much less face to face contact...

and so little contact with nature.

i miss Vermont...running with the cows in the pasture...i miss my little city the way it used to be in carbondale...it is so built up now...Malls and store after store..

used to be so much more countryside.

and such...

much is lost that we will never regain.

Thanks Valentine for reviewing my post!
I remember a town with a sawmill and a canning factory and a plant that made aluminum ladders and people gathering in the town square to listen to bands playing in the pavilion on Sundays. So much lost to progress. My grandfather was born before the automobile and witnessed radio become television, aircraft and missiles. I guess we all go through it, but it's not always right. Good write
