Return This Love

Return This Love

A Poem by Tarry Franck

I feel your body beside me
Your breath caressing my neck
Your hand on the small of my back
Love, there was no lack,
I want it to be this way
Each and every day,
But my dreams
Turn to nightmares
And within them, screams,
Of past memories
That I'd rather forget
But they creep up
When you least expect,
There's no denying
What I've been through
But I want to move on
Give the devil his dues
And accept God in my heart
Ask for his grace to get me through this strife
To return this love
Back into my life.
