Heartache

Heartache

A Poem by Tarry Franck

The moon hangs in the balance
Of the sky and the stars
I want to reach out to them
And pull them to my aching heart,
In hopes of lighting my way
Through the darkness that fills
My lonely days,
The depth of this ache
I don't know how much longer I can take
Before the pieces of me break
This facade I don't know how much longer
I can fake,
I'm trying so hard to be strong
But I'm afraid of what might happen
Before too long
A breakdown I won't be able to control
And afraid I won't be able to hold on to my sanity
And end up
Where I don't want to belong.
