Beauty And Fury

Beauty And Fury

A Poem by Tarry Franck

A misty path I follow
Deep in the woods
Named Hollow,

Forbidden I was told
But never listen
I suppose,

I hear sounds
Never heard before
But that doesn't stop my journey
Onward I explore,

Searching for what is forbidden
Why I wonder
What they want to keep hidden,

Ahead of me, I see
This magnificent light
Coming from a fountain
Alluring emerald water cascading elegantly,

A wishing well it seems
For there are coins tossed
Assuming for hopeful dreams,

Fairies with iridescent wings
Flutter about
As if enticing me
To toss a coin of my own
But there is something
That leads me to doubt,

Were others lured by this beauty
Did their dreams come true
Feeling unsure, unsafe
I turn to escape
For fear this path
Beholds not only beauty
But also an underlying fury.

OOOHHHH :D :D :D :D This is probably one of my favorites of yours!!! I loved the idea and the words you used to describe it. The only thing I really had a problem with was that it seemed like you cut off the lines at the wrong places, and I think some of the magic..ness - yeah, magicness - of the poem was lost because of that.

I enjoyed this poem. Some mystery need to be left alone. I like the journey and what was found. Never know what you will get when you wander off and seeking the unknown. No weakness in the outstanding poem.

Thank you soooo much
this reminds me of a recurring dream of mine where i find a waterfall ,not a wishing well. i wont tell you how it ends...but i love how you left the journey open for interpretation. beautifully worded and skillfully penned.

The paths we do not take... Is it fear or wisdom? This poem has some great elements. You did not get overly ambitious with your word selection and you made a deep thought seem less intimating. Like clear water hides the fathoms.
Enjoyed your poetry today! Thank you for the thought.
Be well on the path you choose.
