Lock up my heart (song)

Lock up my heart (song)

A Poem by taylor.mickles

Wake up in the morning, stare at my phone
Waiting for you to tell me that I'm not alone
Tossing and turning, you should have called by now

I should have known you didn't feel the same
Lying to my face and playing games
Don't worry, I'll regain my dignity, somewhere, somehow..

Why do I always let my expectations bring me such pain?
I swear I'll never give my heart so easily again.

Waiting for a feeling that never came..

I'm gonna lock up my heart, swallow the key
Stop you from hurting me
Oh, I'm gonna open my eyes, dry off my cheeks
Stop believing every word you speak

All my life I've been waiting for a man,
to whisk me off my feet in some fairy tale land
Instead of once upon a time I just got The End.

Oh, and its such a cold, cold world
One minute we're making love with our toes curled,
The next thing you know "we were never lovers or friends.."

Why do I always let my expectations bring me such pain?
I swear I'll never give my heart so easily again.

Waiting for a feeling that never ever came..

I'm gonna lock up my heart, swallow the key
Stop you from hurting me
Oh, I'm gonna open my eyes, dry off my cheeks
Stop believing every word you speak

Yeah, I've had to fight back too many tears
(I'm gonna lock up my heart)
Been hiding inside all of my fears
(Swallow the key)
Its time that I got a clue
(Stop you from hurting me)
Cause too many times you've left me standing in the rain
(Oh, I'm gonna open my eyes)
Well, I'm never waiting again
(Dry off my cheeks)
Its time that I leave you
(Stop believing every word you speak..)

I'll be over you in weeks...
