(Jackie and her son and daughter show up at Tay’s Place)

Tay: (Runs outside to greet them) Jackie (Kisses her cheek) how are you and the kids?

Jackie: We are good (jiggles the baby on her hip) Kade is all excited to go back to school with his favorite Cuzin

Tay: Ya Chase is excited to, which by the way, Kade, Chace is outback playing with the kittens, why don’t you go join him?

Kade: Alright Aunt Tay (Takes off for the back yard)

Tay: And you Let me hold my little niece (Takes the baby from Jackie) Hello sweet pea, you grow each time I see you, so shall we go inside for some coffee?

Jackie: Absolutely, and knowing you, you baked cake, brownies or cookies right?

Tay: (Laughing as she pours coffee and grabs cookies, Set’s them down at the table and sits down with Jackie, Paige, sits on Tay’s lap smearing a cookie into the table) so… how are you really?

Jackie: (Takes a cookie, Bites in) you were always the better baker in the family. And I am doing fine, Kyle would of have came today, But his company had to send him away for a few days

Tay: That’s always good to hear, I am happy you found someone

Jackie: Hey (Puts her hand on Tay’s hand) you will find someone some day

Tay: Right, The last time I dated someone, he died

Jackie: Tyrell died? When? How?

Tay: About 3 months ago, when you were on your second honeymoon in Paris, He was on his way home. And some drunk driver hit his truck, the driver is fine, Tyrell was dead at the scene

Jackie: Sorry to hear that, Umm, I was supposed to tell you, me and Manda are planning on having this big party thing for mom and dad’s 50^th anniversary on Friday

Tay: Me and Chace will be there, don’t Worry

Jackie: Glad to hear it, so tell me, what’s up with you?

Tay: I don’t know, I just don’t feel right, I haven’t been able to eat my favorite foods since Tyrell died

Jackie: Do you think…

Tay: You can’t be serious!? Pregnant? I can’t be, I just can’t be (Starts crying)

Jackie: Hey, Hey, It’s alright Tay, Being pregnant isn’t the worst thing that could happen you know, You did an excellent job with Chace, he is a bright kid, and if you are pregnant… well that there is just more love to go around right?

Tay: (Sniffles) I guess your right, so did you buy me anything from Paris?

Jackie: Only the best wine ever (Hands Tay 2 bottles of French wine) they assured me it was the best wine

Tay: (Sighs) you spoil me

Jackie: and you enjoy It, well I guess me and the gang better be on our way, we promised randy we would take him swimming

Tay: Alright, Say hi to Brenda for me (Kisses the babies head) you have to let me babysit one day

Jackie: I might take you up on that soon (Yelling out the back door) Kade, time to go

Kade: (Comes running into the house with Chace) Mom. The kittens are so cute

Jackie: Good to know; now we have to go, randy is waiting, and we still have to let Charlie outside

Kade: all right mom (Kisses and hugs Tay) see you later aunt Tay, oh and the apple tree is still growing, do you want me to pick some apples for you when their ready?

Tay: (Ruffles his hair) of course I do, and I promise to bake you an apple pie to take home when you do

Kade: (Grins) Deal

(Tay Waves as Jackie and her family drive off, Phone rings)

Tay: (Answers the phone) before you ask, the answer is no

Bryan: (Chuckles) you didn’t even know what I was going to ask

Tay: Ya well, every time you ask for something I get in trouble

Bryan: Well this time, I just wanted to ask if I could take Chace fishing with me and Brandon

Tay: Hold on and I will ask (Puts the phone down and heads to Chace’s room) Hey bud, Want to go fishing with uncle Bryan and Brandon?

Chace: Ok, mom, can I have ice cream later

Tay: Did you clean your room?

Chace: Yes

Tay: Then I don’t see why not, get ready, Brandon will be here in a little bit

Chace: Alright mom, I love you (Hugs her)

Tay: Love you to squirt (Hugs him, Heads back to the kitchen and picks up the phone) He is getting ready, keep an eye on him ok?

Bryan: Tay, I promise nothing will happen to him ok?

Tay: Alright, say hi to Katie for me

Bryan: Will do, are you going to come for a visit soon?

Tay: One day I will :)

Bryan: Alright, See you later Potato

(Both hang up; Tay does dishes and Watches Chace leave)

Tay: Now then, I think grocery shopping should do me a world of wonder

(Grabs the list and jumps into her old Chevy truck, singing along with all the songs on the radio, drives into town and parks in the parking lot of the mega store)

Tay: (Sighs) Well, Might as well get this over with (Heads into the store and grabs a cart) now where to start…

Eric: (Chuckles) why don’t you start with produce and work your way around?

Tay: (Stares at Eric) I don’t believe I know you, I’m Taylor Rae, I live up pine ridge way

Eric: Eric Kellestine, I just moved here from Texas

Tay: I see (Looks at his shaggy hair hanging in is face work shirt and tight faded jeans to his scuffed up cowboy boots) I lived here my while life basically

Eric: I see =] so if I ever need a tour guide may I call you?

Tay: Sure (Writes her name and number on a piece of paper and hands it to him) don’t be surprised if a little boy answers, I have a 10 year old son

Eric: So you’re married?

Tay: Single actually, his father died in a car accident when he was just a baby, I never did marry his father

Eric: Sorry to hear that, so see you around?

Tay: I think I would like that; we don’t get too many of your kind around here

Eric: (Chuckles) glad I could be of service mam (Walks away)

Tay: Wow (picks up her grocery’s and goes to pay for them)

Mac: Hey good looking, when are you going to go to the movies with me? (Rings up her purchases)

Tay: (Laughing) you pick the date :)

Mac: My wife and girls miss you Tay, you must come visit soon (places the bags in the cart for her) have a good day; it was good seeing you :)

Tay: you to Mac (Walks to her truck and places the groceries in the back seat and drives to the doctor’s office)

Marge: Tay, Hun, walk in?

Tay: ya Marge, is uhh Haden in?

Marge: He just got in, go right on back

Tay: Thanks :) (Goes to her brother’s office) I have a favor to ask

Haden: Tay, what a pleasant surprise. What do you need this time?

Tay: A pregnancy test

Haden: you think your….does mom know? (Closes his door)

Tay: No one knows. Well Jackie does, but she won’t tell anyone

Haden: well, I will see what I can do; I think Janis is in today…

Tay: Haden, I want you to do it yourself, just between me and you please?

Haden: alright hold on

(An hour later)

Haden: (Pulls off his gloves) congratulations, your pregnant

Tay: (Get’s dressed and sits with Hayden in his office) how do I tell mom?

Haden: your at least 3 months along, the baby is fine, we will prescribe you with stuff, and as for mom? She loves Chace, I am sure she will love this bundle of joy to, now then, as your doctor (Puts his hand on her arm) Take it easy, enjoy life, and just relax ok?

Tay: Thanks Had, your right, I am just not sure I am ready for this (Sighs) raising Chace was easy, he was quiet and well behaved, this one though (places hand on her tummy) well, she might turn out like

Haden: (chuckles) a little hell raiser like her mother?

Tay: most likely, I should go, but before I do, do you know anything about Eric Kellestine?

Haden: Just that he came from Texas or something, and he is single why?

Tay: I met him today in the grocery store; he seems like a nice guy

Haden: I can ask around for you if you would like.

Tay: I would appreciate it, I might invite him over for supper, and it would be nice to have some adult company

Haden: I think he would like that, I don’t think he knows too many people around here (hands her a prescription) Please fill it out, and relax ok?

Tay: alright Haden. And thanks… for this

Haden: You’re welcome, don’t be a stranger, and I know something is bothering you

Tay: yes, well that is my problem (Kisses his cheek and leaves, get’s her pills and runs into Eric at the diner) Eric right?

Eric: that’s right, so you’re here to have a little dinner?

Tay: Nah, I am here to enjoy a slice of my sister is law’s homemade apple pie

Eric: Your sister in law owns this?

Tay: Ya, her name is Katie, also my Cuzin works here, so I come once a week to visit

Eric: Well that’s nice of you; would you like to join me?

Tay: sure why not (Sits across from Eric) so tell me about yourself

Eric: Alright… never married, no kids, but I do love kids, 4 nephews, 5 nieces, 2 sisters both younger, and an older brother

Tay: Your something else Eric Kellestine, Oh look, there is my Cuzin Rachel, Hey rachy, how is the work going?

Rachel: It is going good, Mom is glad I finally have a job to earn myself some money; I plan on going to collage next year

Tay: Oh? What are you going for?

Rachel: I want to go for a teacher certificate (Takes there orders and disappears)

Eric: So, tell me about yourself Tay

Tay: Aright, I have 2 older Brothers, one is a doctor, in this town actually, I also have a sister a year younger then me, I have 3 nieces, 5 nephews, the oldest niece is about 9 now, and the youngest is about 6 months old, my Oldest nephews are twins, they are 15 now, and the youngest is Kade, being 5 And I am single of course, and ya

Eric: wow, so your family lives in this town?

Tay: Most of them yes, were a small town family, everyone here knows everyone

Rachel (Hands them their food) Tay, Your coming to the anniversary right?

Tay: I am, why do you ask?

Rachel: I just thought, maybe you could ask your friend here to come with you

Tay: Rachy, go do your work and stop match making (Laughing as Rachel walks away)

Eric: Ahem I believe you have something to ask me (Smirks)

Tay: Alright, Eric would you like to go to the anniversary party for my parents?

Eric: I would be delighted to meet your family, but there is something else you want to ask

Tay: Your right, would you like to come to my place for supper tonight? Nothing special, just hamburgers

Eric: Are you coming onto me Ms. Rae

Tay: I know you don’t have much family around this area, and I hear around town you usually eat in your hotel room, so I am being neighborly and asking you to come out for a home cooked meal, and some adult conversation, if you would be interested

Eric: I never knew a girl who talked as much as you, and I actually like listening to you talk. So I would love to come out to your place for supper

Tay: Great (Gives him directions, finishes her pie and takes off)

Eric: What an incredible woman

Rachel: You’re telling me, she never invites anyone up there, ever since Tyrell

Eric: Car accident right?

Rachel: Mhmm, her boy Chace? He is the sweetest kid ever, she adores him

Eric: huh… well it was nice meeting you Rachel (Pay’s for his meal and goes back to the hotel room, meanwhile at Tay’s)

Chace: And Uncle Bryan almost fell out of the boat (giggling) mom I am hungry, what’s for supper?

Tay: Hamburgers, macaroni salad, and deviled eggs

Chace: Yummy, can I have a cookie?

Tay: only one (Hands him a peanut butter cookie) Chace, mommy is having a friend over tonight
