the end of a long line

the end of a long line

A Poem by tcpaessler

The world has had enough poems of you from me?
then it must suffer another
for if I write of you
it is not that I want to write
but because I must
the words that build up in me
are water behind a dam
already overfull

you who hold my heart
as one holds their breath
for fear of losing it
in the same way
I am being spent up
turning toxic in your veins
and I would sooner die a thousand happy deaths
than see my gift come to cause you harm

Powerful words. Amazing how people touch our hearts and inspire our creativity. Your use of language is impressive and you bestow to the reader a full-bodied journey of emotions. Thank you.

I like the visions create by you thoughts in the poem. I have books filled with poetry for my sake today. People who leave our life. Leave their mark and their faces will appear. I enjoyed this poem. Allowed to wander into my thoughts too. Thank you for the excellent poem.
