The Nose

The Nose

A Poem by Talia

it takes in the air, so I’m alive and well
As oxygen fills every cell
It breaths in scents
And reminds me of happy events
Playing with a new baseball
The first bonfire of the fall
From homemade treats
To freshly washed sheets
Hot cocoa steam tickling my nose
A newly bloomed rose
The gentle breeze
Will make me sneeze
This is an issue
I better grab a tissue
To clear my nostrils again
For more I can gain
To smell the scent of him
And feel the chemicals swim
When it’s too cold and your touch I miss
Rub two together for an Eskimo kiss
Don’t be full of strife
The nose brings the world to life

Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it.
I love inventive ideas for writing & I don't think I've EVER read a poem about the nose! Frankly, since I'm a little into gore, I would've had to take a poem like this into a snotty direction, but I also appreciate how you kept it clean & tidy, just a few blots of snot, so ladylike *wink! wink!* Overall I love how you came up with a ton of sparkling details that appeal to the senses. I think this line: "And feel the chemicals swim" might be better if you use the word "pheromones" (instead of chemicals). Lively & lighthearted ramble in words (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
