A Poem For Her

Grade three this random girl sat next to me. She asked me if we ould be friends, I answered yes! But after the vacation, we heard the news she died on a motorbike accident with her dad...

You took my hand, soft caress, with love,
looked me in the eyes and said hey, do you want to be friends?
Looking back I said why not, smiled a shy smile.
Not could I brace myself for what came next, what happened...
Death had his hand at her doorstep, luring her out to his den.
It wasn't a day when the news came to us, you and I never knew each other,
best friends from the start, but only two days old friends.
You didn't say goodbye that day to me, the Friday we all wanted so badly,
the whole day I smiled with confidence, Mom, I made a new friend,
the screams of joy filled the home.
First day, she wasn't there, the news hit us like a bomb, but I felt empty,
shadows grew longer as I walked home, the way we where suppose to walk,
walk with each other, laughing at some stupid joke I made.
I needed your smile to make my day, but now there was nothing.
It took a year to build up courage, but two minutes to take you away,
and it also killed me,
beacuse, I miss you,
even though we never got the chance to know each other.
'God, it hurts to lose some one so far, but so close to you,'

That's such a sad poem, i know how u feel. my neighbor's sister died during the summer and i felt guilty cuz i never knew her, i wanted to meet her and talk to her.

Heartbreaking poem... I can feel the pain as I go through the lines.. It really hurts to loose someone whom you liked, but barely had the chance to know because there are so many wonderful moments missed out..
