I'm Glad Your Gone

A poem written from the perspective of a child who is victim of Domestic Violence

I am glad you are gone

You have inflicted nothing but never ending pain and suffering

You go around making people think you are a saint

You make people think I have a problem

But you never look at what you done to me

You have caused absolute hell

You have torn apart my childhood, my life

You can't go around now and try and say you're a saint

People know you are no saint

It felt like I was suffocating in your presence

Like there was water all around me and there was no exit

But soon it was over and everything was at peace

Or so I thought

Until something happened again and again

I tried to cry for help but my cries were drowned out by your constant lies and manipulation
