Memories

Memories

A Poem by Tessa Melendez

Broken souls
are not homes for hope.
They're places too dark
for even the tiniest rays of sun to enter.

No flowers can take root.
No trees can uplift.
Only memories to deepen the rift.

Memories that clamp down
On the souls orbit
Forcing it to rotate only around them.
Each day,
An unending reliving of pain.
The twinkle in her eyes going down the drain,
Because,
Even the sun can't break through the dark
and heal her pain.
