Connection

Connection

A Poem by Tessa Melendez

When will the day come,
When I find someone I have a real connection with?
Someone whose mind links inexplicably work mine,
Thinking my thoughts, thinking their thoughts,
Harmless feelings being caught,
No affections to be sought,
No action appearing to be for naught.

No one and no thing is perfect,
But I hope endlessly for a true connection,
It's the least I can do,
Give me something to want to protect,
Something that won't cause my heart to need correction,
Instead, something new and beautiful shines through,
Perhaps, finally sticking with me longer than anything else.

Author's Note

Tessa Melendez
I've been without inspiration for a bit now. So, to fix that, I went and searched up some inspiration on Instagram. This one isn't the best of the ones I've written so far, definitely didn't come out as planned but, my inspiration crumbled after I started. This is what I got. Hopefully, it's decent.
