We Created Our Own Happiness

We Created Our Own Happiness

A Poem by Provisional Life

We created our own happiness,
Waving colorful flags,
Drinking light with our eyes,
Pulsating sounds with our fingers.

We created our own happiness,
Blissfully ignorant,
Intoxicated by incense,
Spinning maelstroms in our mind.

We created our own happiness,
Laughing at the world through our concave,
Dancing feverishly, grinning mindlessly,
Licking and licking.

We created our own happiness,
Deceiving ourselves with grandeur,
Living half-truths,
Thinking up revolutions.

We created our own happiness,
Attacking straw men,
With empty gun barrels,
With words which we don't understand.

We created our own happiness,
Locked away in the dark closet,
Dreaming up dragons,
With the best of intentions.
